23:40

Your head is still going.

The day won't put itself down. And every sleep app you have tried finds a new way to wake you.

02:14

Nothing stops it.

No hour cap, no ad, no seam. Fall asleep at 23:40 and it is still there at six, exactly as you left it. Or set your own sunrise and it fades out over a minute.

The How long sheet: 15 minutes to 2 hours, stop at sunrise, or until you stop it, with a fade length slider.
Your own weather

Mix up to six sounds.

Pull the dock up. Slide a sound louder or softer with one thumb. Add another from the bank. Each one set with a word, not a decibel.

The open dock: three volume pills for Morning Dew, Quiet Drops and Dripping gutter, and the bank below to add a sound.
Behind everything

Plays with the phone locked.

Lock it, put it on the nightstand. It keeps going, with play and pause on the lock screen, in Control Center and on AirPods.

For tired ears

Softer. Warmer.

One filter: bass, brightness and a slow swell that breathes with the picture. In plain words, not dB.

The Filter sheet: one preset pill and three hairline controls for bass, brightness and waves.

02:40

The sound has stopped.

You know this moment. It hit the hour cap. A text came in and killed it. The loop clicked and started again from the top. An ad began playing into the dark. Now you are awake, reaching for the phone, and the night is gone.

If it switches off, that in itself wakes you. Tropf exists to refuse that one moment, and to be the quietest thing on your phone while it does.

Rain sounds that play all night

Most sleep sound apps stop at an hour, or whenever the free tier says so. In Tropf, all night is the default. Nothing that keeps the rain playing is ever capped, and when you do want it to stop, it fades over a minute so the silence never wakes you.

A rain app that does not loop

The click at the end of a short loop is the second most common reason a sleep sound wakes you. Every recording in Tropf crossfades into itself over ten to thirty seconds. Thunder rolls in when it rolls in, never on a schedule you can learn.

Your own weather

Some nights need rain alone. Some need rain on the window with a gutter behind it and thunder far away. Tropf stacks up to six recordings from anywhere in the bank, each set with a word from far to close, and keeps the mix for tomorrow night.

Rain without ads or a subscription

Forty euros a year for rain is the most common one-star review in this category, and we agree with it. Tropf is one payment. Seven nights with everything first, then fifteen free minutes every night for as long as you like.

Is sound all night safe

Loud sound for long periods can harm hearing, whatever the source. Keep it quiet, just over the room. Tropf treats nothing, and it says so.

Quick answers.

Will it stop after an hour?

No. All night is the default. If you want it to stop, set fifteen minutes to two hours, or your own sunrise, and it fades out slowly.

Can I make my own mix?

Yes. Up to six sounds from anywhere in the bank, each set with a word from far to close. Tap the heart and the mix waits at the top of your list, the way you left it.

What happens when a text or a call comes in?

The rain steps aside for the call, then fades back in by itself when it ends.

Does it keep playing with the screen locked?

Yes. Lock the phone and put it on the nightstand. Play, pause and the mix are on the lock screen, in Control Center and on AirPods.

Does it need the internet?

No. All 128 recordings ship inside the app. Nothing streams, nothing buffers, and it plays in flight mode.

Is it a subscription?

No. Seven free nights with everything, then fifteen free minutes every night. One payment of €19.99 opens it forever. No trial that turns into a charge, no renewal. Restore it on any iPhone.

Do I need an account?

No. No email, no login, no survey at bedtime. Your mixes and settings live on your phone. Delete the app and everything is gone.

Which phones does it run on?

iPhone with iOS 17 or later, in German or English, following your phone's language. It plays to the built-in speaker, a Bluetooth or AirPlay speaker, or earbuds.
