Terms of Use

This English version is provided for convenience. The German version is the binding one.

1. Provider and scope

Tropf is provided by Frekvens AS, org. no. 821 787 912, Norway (see the legal notice). These terms govern the use of the Tropf app on iPhone and iPad. The contract for obtaining the app and its in-app purchases is concluded through the Apple App Store; Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions apply in addition.

2. Licence

You receive a simple, non-transferable right to use Tropf on devices linked to your Apple ID, for private, non-commercial purposes. The rain scenes and all content of the app are protected by copyright and belong to Frekvens AS or its licensors. You may not extract, redistribute, publicly perform, edit or reuse the audio files in other products.

3. What is free

Tropf is free to download. During the first seven nights on which you start Tropf, the app plays without a time limit. After that, 15 minutes of playback per night are free; at the end the app fades the sound out gently and shows you the purchase options. A "night" runs from 16:00 to 16:00 the following day.

4. In-app purchases

4.1 One-time unlock ("Pay once")

A one-time purchase (non-consumable) permanently unlocks unlimited playback, every timer and every scene. No subscription, no recurring cost. The price is shown to you in the App Store before you buy.

4.2 Yearly subscription

As an alternative there is a subscription with a term of one year that unlocks the same scope. The price is shown before purchase and billed to your Apple ID. The subscription renews automatically for another year unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can cancel and manage it at any time in your iPhone settings under "Apple ID › Subscriptions". There is no free trial.

4.3 Restoring

On a new device or after reinstalling, restore your purchase in the app under "Settings › Restore purchase".

5. Withdrawal and refunds

Purchase and payment go through Apple. Your statutory right of withdrawal and any refunds follow Apple's terms; requests go to reportaproblem.apple.com. Frekvens AS cannot issue refunds itself.

6. Not a medical product

Tropf is a relaxation and sleep aid, not a medical device. It does not replace medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Do not listen during activities that need your full attention, such as driving. Keep the volume at a healthy level, especially with headphones.

7. Availability and changes

We keep developing Tropf and may change, add or remove features and content. The scope bought with the one-time unlock, unlimited playback, every timer and every scene included at the time of purchase, is maintained for as long as Tropf is offered on the App Store.

8. Liability

We are liable without limit for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health. In cases of simple negligence we are liable only for the breach of essential contractual obligations and limited to the foreseeable damage typical for the contract. Liability under product liability law remains unaffected.

9. Governing law

Norwegian law applies. If you are a consumer habitually resident in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein or Luxembourg, the mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected. The European Commission provides a platform for online dispute resolution: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
